| Hi,
my name is Bob Tritthart. I was born on Long Island New York in the year 1960. I lived in East Meadow until my 17th year, then after a three year term in the Army, I stayed in Germany where I've lived ever since. I've painted as long as I can remember, thanks to the wonderful example of my Grandmother who was more than a icon for my Art work. She always had a beautiful way of seeing her surroundings and a great way of explaining them to me. I'll never forget her. Thank you Grandma! |
Before people had cameras, a painted portrait was a good way to remember what someone looked like. Artists still make portraits for many reasons. We can express a mood or capture someone's personality in a portrait. We can honor important people by making their portraits. I really like Drawing and Painting Portraits and to watching how people react when they see themselves for the first time how they look as a piece of art, and not just in the mirror. Portraits are also a second in time that will (if they're well taken care of), last a lifetime, and become a joy for the whole family. They also make great presents for loved ones and family. |
Drawing comics is the best vent I can think of for making fun of life's worst situations. Because of my health situation I'm often sitting in Doctor's waiting rooms where there are more times than I like, little children who often have a lot of pain. So I have a lot of fun asking them what their favorite animal is and then I draw it for them. Its a lot of fun and it makes them feel special, if only for a short wink of an eye. But you have to see those faces! Most kids promise me that they will color it and the next time we see each other they'll show me their work of Art. Like I said, it's a lot of fun. |
From all painting materials and possibilities, I personally believe that oil paints are the most versatile, as well as fulfilling in reaching my goals in the vast possibility of using a canvas to get your point across. I feel Art is not there to answer questions but to cause them, making you think and to ponder is the highest goal for any Artist. I find painting in Oil very fulfilling and I enjoy it very much. I have had a good time helping others to find their love for oil painting and to see them encourage others as well. |
